We get some version of this question a lot: where does the peptide serum actually go? Here's the short version — clean, dry skin, before your moisturizer, day or night. It layers cleanly with the rest of your routine, and it's genuinely hard to get wrong.
Where it fits in a full routine
Cleanse, apply the Matrixyl 3000 + Argireline Serum, then moisturizer — and SPF in the morning. If you're also using a Hyaluronic Acid serum, apply it first: hydration, then peptides, then moisturizer. That's it.
- Morning: Cleanser → Hyaluronic Acid serum (if using) → Matrixyl 3000 + Argireline Serum → moisturizer → SPF.
- Evening: Cleanser → Hyaluronic Acid serum (if using) → Matrixyl 3000 + Argireline Serum → moisturizer.
AM or PM: does it matter?
Use it whenever works for you — morning, night, or both. Unlike retinol, there's no photosensitivity to plan around and no acclimation period, so you can start twice-daily use from day one and get more out of the peptides.
What to layer it with
- Hyaluronic Acid — apply first, for a hydration base that helps the peptides go on smoothly.
- Vitamin C — compatible in the same step, or reach for the Triple Repair Serum, which builds Vitamin C into the same peptide base.
- Copper peptides — compatible; see the dedicated guide below for a multi-active firming routine.
Common mistakes worth avoiding
- Skipping moisturizer after the serum — it's what seals in hydration and keeps skin comfortable.
- Rubbing in hard expecting faster absorption — a gentle press is all it takes.
- Stopping too early — give it the full run. Visible firmness typically shows up around 6–8 weeks and keeps building from there, so consistency is what pays off.
